The Trip

Eliot and I will be co-posting details about our trip and adventures as we go. We will publish the same travel posts on both of our blogs (Eliot's is at www.eliotpeper.com). I will focus my non-travel posts on food, of course. Although our official sabbatical is now over, neither the adventures or the food will ever end. We continue sampling the world by discovering amazing places to explore throughout the Bay Area, our new home for the next foreseeable future.

It's all about the journey, isn't it?

Our destinations include:

Nepal
Ethiopia
Zanzibar (a surprise addition to the original plan)
Dubai (long, long layover)
Sri Lanka
The Maldives (another last minute surprise)
Sumatra
Thailand (Ramadan made us do it!)
Singapore
Burning Man, Nevada

If you have any interest in going to any of these destinations or are curious to learn more about them or the delicious, tasty food we kept on eating, make sure to click on the corresponding tags to the right and if you have any questions, leave a comment or get in touch!

For a visual summary, these are some of the picture highlights of each destination that we have posted on so far:

On the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal

Our 9 day trek through the Ethiopian highlands

Fish feeding frenzy in Zanzibar's pristine, azure waters

Cultural understanding (with a breakfast feast!) in Dubai

Colofrul, giant temples in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka

On one of the hundreds of coral atolls, Maafushi in the Maldives

  2. I didn't realize until yesterday that your trip was already underway! Awesome- keep sharing. :)

I might have to stop reading when you hit Ethiopia, though, because I'm going to be way too jealous of your meals. Morocco is definitely lacking in culinary diversity.
